What is Noni?

TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice was the first commercial noni juice to enter the market in 1996. TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice or Tahitian Noni™ Original™ as it is now known has since become the most popular noni juice, with a bottle sold every 1.6 seconds.

Afterwards it was also discovered that the seeds and leaves of the noni fruit (often called morinda citrifolia fruit) had many healthy properties. As a result other Tahitian Noni products were introduced that included leaves and the oil from the seeds.

In 2010 renamed the Noni Juice product to be Tahitian Noni™ Bioactive Beverages™

Although other companies have tried to break into the Noni market by selling similar noni products, TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice and Tahitian Noni™ products remain the most popular because of Tahitian Noni International’s commitment to quality and high standards.

Harvesting

Part of the quality control is employing harvesters that are trained and certified to pick the noni fruit. An important part of this training is to know the right time a noni fruit is to be picked from the tree to preserve the fruits’ nutrients. Thousands of families throughout the Tahitian Islands are employed to do the picking, washing and shipping of the raw fruit. Most (65%) of the noni fruit is picked from wild trees and the remaining 35% is picked in orchards.

Before being sealed in plastic bags and placed in drums, the fruit is carefully inspected to make sure it is the choicest fruit. The drums are then transported to the processing site in Mataiea, Tahiti. As part of Tahitian Noni International’s quality control, information is recorded regarding what island and who harvested the fruit. This information stays with that batch of fruit until it is bottled. A reference number is stamped on the bottle which is linked to the history of the fruit in that bottle - what island the fruit was picked on, who the harvesters were, and shipping dates.

Processing

Since the fruit, seeds and leaves of the noni plant are all valuable a uniquely built processing plant was constructed to extract the tiny seeds of the noni fruit before the fruit is pureed. The seeds are set aside for future use in other Tahitian Noni products.

The puree is then pasteurized. Pasteurization is an important process for food safety reasons.Tahitian Noni International uses the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and the American FDA (Food and Drug Admin) approved processes.

Chilled totes are then filled with the pasteurized noni puree and shipped by water to the bottling plants in Japan, China, Germany and Utah, USA.

Shipping

Each sealed tote contains up to 320 gallons of pasteurized noni puree. Once it arrives at one of the Tahitian Noni International bottling plants the tote is opened and re-tested for food safety and purity.

Testing

Testing and tracking the results throughout the process from fruit picking to capping the bottle is part of the reason that TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice is known for its great quality. Another reason is the continued research at the Tahitian Noni International Research Facility to discover all there is to know about the noni fruit, leaves and seeds and how most effectively to see these health benefits in consumable Tahitian Noni™ products. Discoveries made by TNI research staff have helped in the development of the unique processes employed to create the Tahitian Noni™ products.

Manufacturing

Once the puree arrives at the bottling plant and passes quality control inspections it is now ready to become juice. A small amount of grape and blueberry concentrate is added to the puree according to Tahitian Noni International’s proprietary formula. At this stage the operation is carried out under the supervision of qualified food processing technicians. Since the fruit juices were added to the puree, the noni juice is pasteurized once again. The juice is eventually poured into sterilized environmental friendly glass bottles and sealed with a cap. A gold color seal covers the cap and neck of the bottle. A black code is stamped on the neck of the bottle which matches the code used for the record keeping of the batch of fruit up to this point. Every bottle’s code can tellTahitian Noni International where the fruit used to make the juice was picked.

TAHITIAN NONI™Juice as is all the Tahitian Noni™ Bioactive Beverages™ are made from of pure fruit: noni puree, concentrated blueberry and grape juice. The addition of the concentrated grape and blueberry juice are twofold. The first is due to the very strong taste of the noni fruit. By itself it is very difficult to drink. The second reason is because both grapes and blueberries are well known for their antioxidants. When the noni puree and the concentrated blueberry and grape juice are joined together their combined antioxidants are higher than if they were separated. Tahitian Noni International carefully researched the best ratio of noni puree to blueberry/grape juice ratio to ensure a pleasant taste without sacrificing the health benefits of the noni puree. This special formula is found only in Tahitian Noni™ Bioactive Beverages™.

Teas, skin, hair and body products as well as oils are just a few of the products Tahitian Noni International make with the different parts of the noni plant. Although the products are made in the Tahitian Noni International American, German, Japanese and Chinese manufacutring plants, they exceed the standards of any of the countries in which they are sold.

All packaging and product labels are made according to the guidelines of the particular country in which they are being sold because they have to be in the native language. Although some of the ingredients in supplement type products might need to vary according to the countries’ standards, they all bear the excellence of the Tahitian Noni International brand.

Tablets, Capsules and other Noni Products

Some time after TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice ion 1996 made its debut, other companies have tried to replicate its success by dehydrating the noni fruit and either making it into tablets or putting it in capsules. Although it can make the strong taste of the noni fruit palatable, the effects of dehydration on the properties of the noni fruit still remain unclear. This was the reason TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice and the other Tahitian Noni™ Bioactive Beverages™ are made from noni fruit puree, to protect its many health benefits.

Tahitian Noni International has put much effort into following the same small scale manufacturing methods as the ancient French Polynesians with mechanization to increase the volume so that people throughout the world could enjoy it. They have replicated the traditions of facial, body and hair care using the natural goodness of the noni fruit, leaves and seeds.
